Defendant Of Land Mafia Kas Wedoomartani Sleman Village Sentenced To 8 Years Of Peenjara

The panel of judges sentenced Robinson Saalino to 8 years in prison in the land mafia case in the form of corruption in the use of the Village Treasury Land (TKD) Wedomartani, Sleman Regency, Yogyakarta Special Region.

"The defendant Robinson Saalino was sentenced to 8 years in prison with an order that the defendant be detained," said the panel of judges while reading the verdict in a trial at the Corruption Court (Tipikor) at the Yogyakarta District Court, Thursday, January 16, reported by ANTRA.

Robinson was declared legally and convincingly guilty of committing a criminal act of corruption together as in the primary indictment violating Article 2 paragraph (1) in conjunction with Article 18 of Law Number 31 of 1999 concerning the Eradication of Criminal Acts of Corruption as amended by Law Number 20 of 2001 jo. Article 55 paragraph (1) 1st of the Criminal Code.

In addition to imprisonment, Robinson was also fined Rp. 300 million with the condition that if not paid, it was replaced with imprisonment for 6 months.

The judge also ordered Robinson to pay a replacement money of Rp. 10.3 billion within 1 month after the decision had permanent legal force (inkrah).

If the defendant does not pay the replacement money, his property will be confiscated by the prosecutor and auctioned off to fulfill this obligation.

"If the defendant does not have sufficient assets to pay the replacement money, it will be replaced with imprisonment for 2 years," said the judge.

This verdict is heavier than the demands of the public prosecutor (JPU) of the DIY High Prosecutor's Office, who previously demanded imprisonment for 5 years and compensation of Rp336.4 million.

Both Robinson and the Public Prosecutor stated that they were still thinking about the decision.

Despite being warned by the Land and Spatial Planning Office of Sleman Regency and the Head of Wedomartani Village, Robinson continued the project in collaboration with investors.

"From the amount of investment obtained by PT Gunung Samudera Tirtomas, the defendant took IDR 1,380,841,997.00 for his personal interests," said Herwatan.

As a result of the defendant's actions, said Herwatan, the state suffered a loss of Rp336,400,000.00.
