Coordinating Minister For Political, Legal And Security Affairs Involves KPK In 2 New Decrees
Coordinating Minister for Political and Security Affairs (Menko Polkam) Budi Gunawan said his party would involve the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) in two new desks that will be formed in the near future.
"In the future, there will also be several additional desks that will be formed, including the Decree on the Handling of the Crime of Trafficking in Persons and the Desk for Handling Forest Fires, which is also likely to join the KPK as the result of the meeting," Budi said after a closed meeting with KPK chairman Setyo Budianto at the Coordinating Ministry for Political, Legal and Security Affairs office, Central Jakarta, Thursday, January 16, reported by ANTARA.
The involvement of the KPK in the two new desks was carried out to help the Coordinating Ministry for Political, Legal and Security Affairs investigate allegations of misappropriation of the budget or corruption in cases of trafficking in persons or forest fires.
However, the man who is familiarly called BG did not explain in detail the main tasks of the KPK in the two new desks.
Currently, the KPK together with other law enforcement agencies have joined the desk for eradicating corruption formed by BG.
During the desk on duty, many corruption cases were revealed or continued after previously stagnant.
One of the things that caught the public's attention was the KPK's follow-up in a corruption case involving PDI-P cadre Harun Masiku.
The aftermath of the re-starting of the Harun Masiku case is the appointment of PDI-P Secretary General Hasto Kristianto as a suspect.

BG ensures that it will continue to support all KPK efforts in eradicating corruption.
At the same time, Setyo Budianto admitted that he discussed many things related to the synergy between the KPK and the government in eradicating corruption.
"The KPK hopes that the next activity will be further improved for coordination and creating good synergy between the government and the KPK. With good cooperation, the goal of eradicating corruption, among others, is prevention and prosecution, which can be done as well as possible," he said.
