KPK Finds Out Why DPR Member F-PDIP Maria Lestari Is Absent From Today's Call
JAKARTA - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) will investigate the reasons why DPR member of the PDI-P Faction (PDIP) Maria Lestari did not fulfill the investigator's summons today.
This was conveyed by KPK spokesman Tessa Mahardhika in response to Maria's absence who had been summoned twice but was not present. The first summons were delivered by investigators on Thursday, January 9.
"Investigators and in this case the investigator admin will investigate. If the person concerned has received and is not present, he will be investigated whether there is proper and reasonable information for absence," Tessa told reporters at the KPK's Merah Putih building, Kuningan Persada, South Jakarta, Thursday, January 16.
If from the results of this search, continued Tessa, it turns out that Maria's absence is not considered appropriate, then forced pick-up can be done.
"We are investigating, what is the reason for his absence. Whether the letter does not arrive or there is another order, we will ask first," he said.
The Chairperson of the KPK, Setyo Budiyanto, once revealed Maria Lestari when announcing the status of suspect Hasto on December 24, 2024. He said, Hasto met with former General Election Commission (KPU) Commissioner Wahyu Setiawan to fulfill a request regarding the two proposed PAW submitted by the PDIP DPP, namely Maria Lestari Dapil 1 West Kalimantan and Harun Masiku Dapil 1 South Sumatra.
In the 2019 election, Maria Lestari won around 33,006 votes. He then replaced Alexius Akim who was dismissed by the PDI-P and also Michael Jeno who resigned.

Previously reported, the KPK developed an interim replacement bribery (PAW) case that ensnared former KPU commissioner Wahyu Setiawan and his fugitive, Harun Masiku. Two people were later named as suspects, namely PDIP Secretary General Hasto Kristiyanto and Donny Tri Istiqomah who are PDIP cadres as well as lawyers.
It didn't stop there, Hasto was also a suspect in the obstruction of the investigation. He is suspected of trying to obstruct the legal process, one of which is by asking Harun to damage his cellphone and run away after the hand arrest operation (OTT) was carried out.
