KPK Investigate Allegations Of ASN Bengkulu Provincial Government Collecting Money For The Interest Of The Rohidin Mersyah Pilkada
The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) is investigating allegations of money collection by state civil servants (ASN) within the Bengkulu Provincial Government for the benefit of former Bengkulu Governor Rohidin Mersyah running. This step was taken by examining seven witnesses on Wednesday, January 15.
"The witness was present and investigated regarding the collection of money by the Bengkulu Provincial Government ASN for the benefit of winning the suspect RM in the 2024 Bengkulu Provincial Election," said KPK Spokesperson Tessa Mahardhika to reporters, Thursday, January 16.
Tessa said the seven witnesses were questioned at the Bengkulu Police. Those who were summoned were Assistant 2 for the Economy and Development of Bengkulu Province R. Denny; Nandar Munadi as general administrative assistant for Bengkulu Province; and Edi Susanto who is the Head of the Bengkulu Province Organization and Administration Bureau.
Then the Head of Social Service for Bengkulu Province Yudan Harto, Timor Diyanto and Ekos Saputra also examined; and Medi Hartono who is the Head of the Regional IV Education Office Muko-Muko.
Previously reported, the KPK held a hand arrest operation (OTT) in Bengkulu Province on Saturday, November 23 and brought eight people for questioning. Three people were later named as suspects, namely Bengkulu Governor Rohidin Mersyah, Bengkulu Provincial Secretary (Sekda) Isnan Fajri and Evrianshah alias Anca who is the Adc Governor of Bengkulu.
When the OTT was carried out, investigators found IDR 7 billion in rupiah currency denominations, US dollars, and Singapore dollars. The extortion and acceptance of gratuities is said to finance Rohidin, who is back running as a candidate for incumbent.

As a result of his actions, these three suspects are suspected of violating Article 12 letter e and Article 12B in Law Number 31 of 1999 as amended in Law Number 20 of 2001 in conjunction with Article 55 of the Criminal Code.
