DKI Provincial Government Stops Extended Sea Fence 500 Meters On Island C Reclamation

Head of the DKI Jakarta Food, Maritime and Agricultural Security Service (DKPKP) Suharini Eliawati said that her party had visited the location of the bamboo fence installation in the sea around Pulau C reclamation, North Jakarta.

The existence of a sea fence in the waters of Island C was also discussed after the public was enlivened by a sea fence in the waters of Tangerang, Banten.

"All of my friends, with the existence of a sea fence in front of Pulau C So this morning, earlier we together with the Ministry of Maritime Affairs and Fisheries Satpol PP team, and from Pulau Seribu Regency, we measured dronely," Suharini told reporters, Thursday, January 16.

After going viral on social media, Suharini said that the sea fence on Island C, which had spread 500 meters, would no longer be extended.

"With findings like this, it didn't happen, so it was immediately stopped. There was no more work," said Suharini.

He continued, the DKI Provincial Government is currently coordinating with the Ministry of Maritime Affairs and Fisheries (KKP) to find out who made the sea fence.

"Then our steps, of course, we will see if they have a permit. Of course now, friends know that licensing is still at the Ministry of KP concerning its KKPRL (Compliance of Marine Spatial Utilization Activities)," he explained.

Previously, the Director of the Rujak Center for Urban Studies, Elisa Sutanudjaja revealed the findings of a sea fence installed on Island C reclamation of the north coast of Jakarta, in the midst of the bustling of kilometers of sea fence polemics in the Banten Sea.
