Thursday Morning, Officers Were Still Extinguishing Glodok Plaza After The Fire Last Night

JAKARTA - Head of the DKI Jakarta Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) Isnawa Adji said officers were still in the process of extinguishing the Glodok Plaza building, Tamansari, West Jakarta which caught fire last night.

"Thursday, January 16, 2025 at 08.00 WIB, the cooling process is still in progress," Isnawa said in his statement, Thursday, January 16.

Isnawa said that until now the joint team is still collecting data to calculate the estimated losses caused by the red rooster. The alleged cause of the fire at Glodok Plaza is also unknown.

"The Fire and Rescue Service (Gulkarmat) is still monitoring the condition of the burning building and is still being extinguished regularly," he said.

It is known that the fire at Glodok Plaza was thought to have started from the 7th floor and spread to the 8th floor, 9, and 6th floor. The fire began to appear at around 21.33 WIB, Wednesday, January 15.

The Gulkarmat Service deployed about 20 fire engines at the mall located on Jalan Pinangsia Raya, Mangga Besar Village, Tamansari District. The blackout was also extinguished with a skylift Bronto unit.

The joint team evacuated 8 workers trapped in the Glodok Plaza building and is already being handled by the medical team.
