Receiving The Perpat Babel Audience, Commission III Of The DPR Will Call Jampidsus Regarding Tin Corruption Rp271 T

JAKARTA - Commission III of the DPR RI held an audience with the Chairman of the Regional Leadership Council (DPD) Bangka Induk Perpat Babel Andi Kusuma at the Parliament Complex, Wednesday, January 15. Andi complained about the mega corruption in the 2015-2022 tin trading system worth Rp271 trillion.

The legal commission stated that it would follow up on the complaint by summoning the Junior Attorney for Special Crimes (Jampidsus) after the opening of the trial period on January 20.

"Our Commission III will always absorb the aspirations of the community, what Mr. Andi Kusuma said we will continue with the Jampidsus meeting during the upcoming session," said Chairman of Commission III of the DPR, Habiburokhman in a hearing (RDP) in the House of Representatives Commission III room, Wednesday, January 15.

During the meeting, the Chairman of the DPD Perpat Babel Andi Kusuma revealed that the Professor in IPB Forest Protection Bambang Hero Saharjo was unclear when describing state losses of Rp271 trillion.

"Regarding Bambang Hero, there was a violation of the law, when the facts of the trial were asked he was lazy to answer," said Andi Kusuma in a meeting with Commission III of the DPR RI.

Andi said Bambang Hero did not have ethics in the trial when revealing the calculation of state losses by PT. Timah, Tbk.

"He did not carry out the oath of office. Does a professor have morals and ethics. This is the fate of many people to be payment for unemployment," he said.

Previously, the Regional Leadership Council (DPD) of the Bangka Belitung Place Boys Association (PERPAT) submitted a request for a Hearing Meeting (RDP) to Commission III of the DPR RI regarding the alleged mega corruption in tin trading system worth Rp271 trillion.

In letter number 001 / RDP / DPP-PERPAT.BABLE / I / 2025, PERPAT highlighted state losses due to environmental damage and requested a re-evaluation of the calculation of losses used in the legal process.

The letter sent to the Chairman of the Indonesian House of Representatives was also copied to the President of the Republic of Indonesia Prabowo Subianto, Komnas HAM, the Coordinating Ministry for Political, Legal and Security Affairs, PT Timah Tbk, the Indonesian Attorney General's Office, and a number of related parties.

In the letter, PERPAT expressed concern over the use of environmental experts' calculations which were deemed irrelevant in the context of state financial losses.

In this case, an environmental expert from the Bogor Agricultural Institute (IPB), Bambang Hero Saharjo, said that the state loss was Rp271,069,740,060 due to environmental damage which included 170,363 hectares. However, PERPAT considers that Bambang does not have the competence to calculate state financial losses.

"Bambang Hero Saharjo is an environmental expert, not a state financial expert. State losses should be calculated by the Supreme Audit Agency (BPK) or relevant experts," said Chairman of the DPP Putra Putri Terangan (Perpat) Bangka Belitung, Andi Kusuma, Tuesday, January 7.

Andi also highlighted Bambang's statement in the trial which was deemed unprofessional and said that the calculation of the proposed losses did not separate PT Timah Tbk's IUP and other private smelters.

According to Andi, the calculations carried out by the Attorney General's Office together with Bambang Hero Saharjo showed a large deviation. Based on lead production data during 2015-2022, the mining area needed should only be 9,720 hectares, not 170,363 hectares as previously claimed.

"This shows a significant discrepancy in the data submitted. This calculation needs to be reverified by mining experts, geologists, and other related parties," said Andi.
