Sea Fence Also Appears Around Island C Reclamation, DKI Provincial Government: Central Government Authority
JAKARTA - The public has been enlivened about the emergence of fences in the sea in the waters of Tangerang, Banten. Apparently, the findings of a bamboo fence installed in the sea were also found in the waters around Island C reclamation, North Jakarta.
Responding to this, the Head of the DKI Jakarta Food, Maritime and Agricultural Security Service (DKPKP) Suharini Eliawati admitted that her party had coordinated with the Ministry of Maritime Affairs and Agriculture (KKP).
"Regarding the Bamboo Fence on Island C, we have coordinated with the Ministry of Maritime Affairs and Fisheries regarding whether they already have valid permits or not. This is because currently licensing for the use of marine space is still under the authority of the central government," Suharini told reporters, Tuesday, January 14.
Suharini revealed that the DKI Provincial Government is also continuing to seek information regarding the ownership of the bamboo fence in the waters of Island C so that further information can be asked.
He emphasized that all types of use of marine space, including the installation of fences, refer to the applicable laws and regulations and are required to have a suitability permit for Marine Spatial Utilization Activities (KKPRL) and related business licensing.
"Laut is a common property and is open access. So, if it turns out that there is no valid permit, then further action is needed with the Ministry of Marine Affairs and Fisheries," said Suharini.
Previously, the Director of the Rujak Center for Urban Studies, Elisa Sutanudjaja revealed the findings of a sea fence installed on Island C reclamation of the north coast of Jakarta, in the midst of the bustling of kilometers of sea fence polemics in the Banten Sea.
