Ministry Of Home Affairs: If The Villages Are Progressive, The Regions Are Advanced, Indonesia Will Definitely Advance

JAKARTA - Director General (Dirjen) of Village Administration Development (Pemdes) of the Ministry of Home Affairs (Kemendagri) La Ode Ahmad P. Bolombo emphasized that villages play an important role in advancing Indonesia.

According to him, villages have various resources, such as natural resources (SDA) and human resources (HR) that can be utilized.

"If the village progresses, the area progresses, Indonesia will definitely progress. The village lights up, it lights up my nation," said La Ode in a statement in Jakarta, Tuesday, January 14, which was confiscated by Antara.

He revealed that the reason for the 2025 Village Day Commemoration was held in Sumedang Regency. According to him, Sumedang has 270 digitally literate independent villages with zero percent poverty.

"So the Minister agreed to the stipulation of Sumedang as the peak of the Village Day Commemoration," he said.

La Ode explained that this year's Village Day Commemoration was enlivened by various activities.

These include Village Expo, Simposium, and peak events which will be attended by the Minister of Home Affairs (Mendagri) Muhammad Tito Karnavian.

"We present an activity called the National Village Deliberation, tomorrow we will tease this place, I will allow the Regent," said La Ode.

In the deliberation, La Ode explained, an interactive discussion will be filled between the central government, regional governments (Pemda), and village governments.

In addition, the deliberation will continue with the activities of the Village Food Plant Plant Plant Planting Movement or Gemah Tandan Desa.

"This is part of a series of all Village Day Commemorations centered in Sumedang, in Cibeureum Kulon Village, Cimalaka District," he said.

Meanwhile, Acting Regent of Sumedang Yudia Ramli said that the choice of Sumedang as the host of the 2025 Village Day Commemoration was an honor, as well as a challenge to participate in the success.

His party is committed to making this moment to strengthen collaboration between the government, society, and all stakeholders in realizing a more resilient village.

This is in line with the theme of this year's Village Day Commemoration, namely "Food Tough Village, Prosperous Indonesia".

"This theme is very relevant to the current conditions, where food security is a very urgent issue throughout the world, including in Indonesia," said Yudia.

Not only that, he assessed that the current village is expected to become a base for agricultural production and must be able to play an active role in ensuring food security.

To achieve this, continued Yudia, the village community must support various national food security programs.

"With the spirit of togetherness, we hope to create independent and resilient villages in facing various challenges, including in the food aspect," he concluded.

For information, this activity was also handed over a certificate of the 2024 Cinta Statistics Village Program (Beautiful Village) which was symbolically given to six villages.
