Acting Governor Of DKI Regarding Jagat Coins: Hopefully It Can Be TAKEdown
JAKARTA - Acting Governor of DKI Jakarta said the government is evaluating the use of the coin hunting game with prizes from the Jagat application.
The DKI Jakarta Communication, Informatics and Statistics Agency (Diskominfotik), said Teguh, is coordinating with the Ministry of Communication and Digital Affairs (Kemkomdigi) to evaluate opportunities for blocking the application if it has many adverse effects.
"There must be several variables (evaluation). But if there are more negative impacts, hopefully they can also be taken down," said Teguh at the DKI Jakarta DPRD Building, Central Jakarta, Tuesday, January 14.
Teguh said the government had highlighted the damage to public facilities caused by the hunt for the Jagat coin.
Therefore, he instructed the ranks of the DKI Jakarta Satpol PP to oversee public spaces that are the locations for the deployment of the Jagat coin.
"Kita tahu kemarin sudah ada yang di GBK, kemudian di Taman Soropati, dan kita juga wilayah yang berpotensi untuk main coin Jagat juga sudah kami menjaga," tutur Teguh.
Recently, social media, especially TikTok, is busy with the trend of the Jagat Coin, namely the game of hunting for coins using the Jagat application and exchanging them for gifts.
This game is only available in big cities in Indonesia, including Jakarta, Bandung, Surabaya, and Bali. To play, you must first download the 'Jagat.oi' application.

After that, players can find gold, silver, and bronze coins hidden somewhere by following the instructions on the app and exchanging them for prizes of up to IDR 850 thousand.
But unfortunately, several netizens reported that this game caused many problems, such as damaging public facilities in order to find the coins.
Responding to this issue, the Minister of Communication and Digital Affairs, Meutya Hafid, said that his party would still study more deeply first.
I am also a lot in DM by friends. We have coordinated with the Deputy Minister of Komdigi Pak Angga Raka to follow up on this application. I myself just got input so we will study it first," Meutya told the media on Monday, January 13.
