Beware, Don't Defecate Carelessly, Criminal Risk Of Prison

JAKARTA - Central Jakarta Mayor Arifin ordered three Regional Apparatus Work Units (UKPD) to raid settlements that were still defecating (BAB) carelessly into the canal.

"In Central Jakarta, there are still residents' houses that are caught defecating carelessly into the channel. I ordered the Central Jakarta Satpol PP, the Health Service Sub-dept. (Sudinkes) and the Environmental Service Sub-dept. to raid residential areas," said Arifin, Tuesday, January 14.

In addition, Arifin said, residents whose houses were found to have dumped their defecation into the canal could be subject to sanctions. The imposition of sanctions ranging from criminal to confinement can be imposed on the owner of the house or occupants of the house.

"This sanctions giving rule is regulated in regional regulation (Perda) No. 8 of 2007. The provision of sanctions has provisions, not just giving sanctions," he said.

Arifin said that the imposition of sanctions can be done for residents if on the side of the land of their house there can be room to make mirrors and their economic capabilities. Residents who fall into this category must make a scene.

"So for residents who have land and their economy can afford it, they must make a spilleng. If it doesn't make it, we will fly a warning letter (SP), if it is not heeded it can also lead to criminal or imprisonment," he said.

Meanwhile, residents whose homes do not have land and their economic capabilities are lacking will not be given sanctions. The government will actually build communal tiles.

"So our residents ask to stop defecating carelessly because it can damage the environment," he said.
