Samsung Tri-Fold Will Release This Year As Limited Device

JAKARTA Samsung is rumored to be releasing the latest foldable device this year. However, this device is not part of the Z Fold or Z Flip series, but a Tri-Fold series aka a device with three folds.

The Z Fold and Z Flip series have not progressed from year to year as the sales figures of these folding phones continue to decline. Unlike Tri-Fold, this device may be successful in the global market due to several factors.

Tri-Fold is the first triple phone to be released by the South Korean company. If you haven't imagined how to fold it, it's similar to the Z Fold series, but with a wider screen and folds twice.

This latest foldable phone will be a limited device as Samsung provides less than 300,000 units, according to a Korean media report from the Journal-e. This device is believed to be marketed in the second half of this year.

If you look at the number of units, the Samsung Tri-Fold will most likely only be released in one or two countries. The country that will definitely get the device is South Korea, while other countries are expected to be in Asia.

Tri-Fold will be a very expensive device, even predicted to be more expensive than the Z Fold series, as Samsung has spent a lot of money designing a complicated hinge mechanism. Double-folding screen manufacturing also costs more.

Specifications of this phone have not been revealed, but its device is believed to adopt Qualcomm's Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset. Although its phone screen will be wider, the Samsung Tri-Fold won't be as big as a tablet.
