Defending The Interest Of The People, The State Must Not Be Afraid Of Fighting The Arrogance Of The Capitalis
JAKARTA Unair professor Henri Subiakto emphasized that the Prabowo Subianto government must not be afraid in defending the interests of the people when fighting the arrogance of the capital that seeks to dominate the country's wealth.
He said, the existence of a more than 30 kilometers long sea fence on the coast of Tangerang could be an example of capitalism's arrogance in controlling the country's wealth and displacing the common people, in the name of the development of a national strategic project or regional economic development.
"Unfortunately, the strong response from the apparatus and government officials actually seemed silent or pretended not to know. The state and government still have a lot of problems with businessmen who collude with the old authorities but their power nails are still strong, with their arms and power still everywhere," said Henri, Sunday, January 12, 2025.

According to him, the people are not anti-development and anti-region areas, or anti-projects that can provide opportunities for job opportunities. On the other hand, the people are happy with economic development that can improve welfare.
It's just that, continued Henri, the development process must be in accordance with the regulations. He gave an example, the case of the sea fence in Tangerang will raise concerns regarding the implementation of PSN in other areas, especially those far from Jakarta.
"If there are allegations of collusion and irregularities near Jakarta, what about similar projects in remote areas? That is the importance of the development process being carried out in a transparent, accountable manner and involving the participation of the wider community. So that there is no turmoil and misunderstanding," concluded Henri.
