Alex Pastoor's Confession That He Was Learning To Map Indonesia Gets Like 66.5 Thousand

JAKARTA - Assistant coach of the Indonesian national team Alex Pastoor uploaded that he was studying the map of Indonesia after being announced as assistant to Patrick Kluivert on the Garuda team on Wednesday (6/1).

Quoted from his official Instagram account on Sunday, Alex uploaded that he was holding the book Atlas Van Indonesianesie. In his upload, he also wrote the caption "full preparation".

Pastor is a Dutch coach with extensive experience in the world of football coaching for more than 20 years. He has led a number of clubs such as Almere City, Sparta Rotterdam, AZ Alkmaar, NEC Nijmegen, Excelsior, and Slavia Prague.

Pastoor is known as a coach who managed to bring three different clubs promoted to Eredivisie or the first caste in the Netherlands, namely Excelsior in 2010, Sparta Rotterdam in 2016, and Almere City in 2023.

In 2016, he led Sparta to Eredivisie by winning the EUrte Divisie title or the second caste in the Netherlands in the 2015-2016 season.

Pastor then rested from the world of football in June 2024 after guiding Almere to finish 13th in the Dutch League final standings with 34 points earned from seven wins, 13 draws, and 14 defeats.

PSSI officially announced Kluivert as a new coach on Wednesday (8/1), two days after the announcement of Shin Tae-yong's dismissal.

The Dutch football legend contracted for two years until 2027 with the option of an extension, with the closest target being to bring Indonesia through to the 2026 World Cup. Pastoor and Denny Landzaat will accompany Kluiver as assistant coaches.

PSSI will introduce the new coach of the Indonesian national team this afternoon at 15.00 WIB at a hotel in Jakarta.
