JAKARTA - Access to Muara Angke Port was again submerged by tidal waves or floods due to high tides on Jalan Dermaga Ujung Muara Angke, Penjaringan District, North Jakarta, Sunday morning, January 12, 2025.

"Water started to enter since 06.00 WIB in the morning, inundating the roads and houses of residents," said Head of RT006 RW022 Penjaringan Wirya.

He said the flood height reached 10 to 30 centimeters which inundated the road to the Kali Adem Pier of Muara Angke Port.

According to him, the plan is that today residents will work together but this natural phenomenon makes this activity unable to be held.

"The RW 22 post has also been flooded with tidal flooding so far," he said.

Previously, the Meteorology, Climatology and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) had issued an early warning of coastal flooding or tidal flooding on January 9-17, 2025 due to the phenomenon of maximum tides along with the new moon phase which has the potential to increase the maximum sea level in the form of coastal flooding in the coastal area north of Jakarta.

In addition, the tide caused the status of the Fish Market Water Gate to be increased to Danger / Alert 1 on Saturday (11/01) at 07.00 WIB which caused several inundation in the DKI Jakarta area.
