The Number Of Tourists In Mabar Experiences A Decrease In 2024
JAKARTA - The West Manggarai Regency Government (Mabar), East Nusa Tenggara, through the Creative Economy and Culture Tourism Office noted that tourist visits throughout 2024 reached 411,349 people, a decrease compared to 2023, which was 423,847 people.
"Last year's target experienced a slight decrease in the number of visits due to the eruption of Mount Lewotobi Laki so that many tourists failed to come to Labuan Bajo," said Head of the West Manggarai Creative Economy and Culture Tourism Office Stefanus Jemsifori, quoting ANTARA, Sunday, January 12, 2025.
He explained the data on the number of visits collected based on the recapitulation of visits within a year at the Komoterhimpu National Park Hall and a number of tourist destinations in Labuan Bajo.
The number of tourists in 2024 consists of domestic tourists 181,586 people and foreign tourists 229,763 people.

Tourism destinations in Labuan Bajo are managed by local governments, namely Batu Cermin Cave, Lanyako Cave, snorkeling and diving in the waters of the West Manggarai Sea, Cunca Wulang and Puncak Waringin Waters.
"Regional income from levy objects in tourist destinations in 2024 is IDR 2.6 billion, up from 2023 of IDR 1.8 billion," he said.
He said he was optimistic that the local revenue target (PAD) from the tourism sector had increased because there were two new tourist attractions (DTW), namely Wae Escape Tourism Village and Mbrenang Beach.
"We are very focused on developing various tourist destinations in Labuan Bajo so that tourist activities are not only in the Komodo National Park area but are distributed evenly throughout West Manggarai," he said.
