Arief Budiman Former KPU Chairman Called By KPK Regarding Hasto Kristiyanto Case
JAKARTA - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) has scheduled the examination of three witnesses in the bribery case for the management of the interim replacement (PAW) of members of the Indonesian House of Representatives and the obstruction of the investigation that ensnared the Secretary General of the PDI Perjuangan (PDIP) Hasto Kristiyanto today, Friday, January 10. One of them is the former chairman of the KPU Arief Budiman.
"The examination was carried out at the KPK's Red and White Building," said KPK spokesman Tessa Mahardhika to reporters in her statement.
Then Anasta Tias, who is the former chairman of the KPU, Musi Rawas and Rahmat Setiawan, Tonidaya, as civil servants (PNS) and the Secretary of the KPU leadership.
The anti-corruption commission has not yet detailed the material for the examination of these three witnesses. However, they are suspected of knowing about the criminal incident that is being investigated.
Previously reported, the KPK developed an interim replacement bribery (PAW) case that ensnared former KPU commissioner Wahyu Setiawan and his fugitive, Harun Masiku.
Two people were later named as suspects, namely PDIP Secretary General Hasto Kristiyanto and Donny Tri Istiqomah who are PDIP cadres as well as lawyers.
It didn't stop there, Hasto was also a suspect in the obstruction of the investigation. He is suspected of trying to obstruct the legal process, one of which is by asking Harun to damage his cellphone and run away after the hand arrest operation (OTT) was carried out.

Regarding the determination of this suspect, PDIP conveyed various reactions. One of them is claiming that Hasto's information must be detained immediately before the 2025 party congress.
"We heard information that the Secretary General of the PDI-P Hasto Kristiyanto is targeted to be detained before the PDI-P Congress which will take place in the near future," said PDIP DPP chairman Ronny Talapessy in a press conference for the legal team at the PDIP Menteng DPP office, Central Jakarta, Thursday, January 9.
