Xiaomi Mix Flip 2 Leaked With Decgraded Camera Specifications

JAKARTA After successfully releasing the first Mix Flip in July 2024, Xiaomi is now preparing to launch its successor, Mix Flip 2. The latest leak from XiaomiTime reveals the specifications of the camera on this latest foldable phone, but unfortunately, this news is not entirely encouraging.

Mix Flip 2 will reportedly continue to use a 50MP OV8000 main sensor and an OV32B40 32MP front camera like its predecessor. However, this phone no longer embeds 50MP telephoto lenses like the first Mix Flip. Instead, Xiaomi chose a 50MP Samsung S5KJN5 ultra-wide-angle lens.

This decision is quite surprising, considering telephoto lenses are usually more useful for portrait photos or shooting with a sharp zoom.

While camera specifications may be disappointing for some users, Mix Flip 2 brings some interesting improvements:

Mix Flip 2 is also rumored to be using the Snapdragon 8 Elite processor, which promises stronger performance. In addition, the design is said to be thinner than the first Mix Flip which has a thickness of only 7.6mm.

In August, Mix Flip 2 was registered in the GSMA IMEI database with model number 2505APX7BC for the Chinese market and 2505APX7BG for global variants. The "2505" figure is expected to show launch time in May 2025.

Despite some decline in camera specifications, the Xiaomi Mix Flip 2 still offers a lot of improvements, especially in terms of battery life, waterproof features, and wireless charging. Will Mix Flip 2 be able to maintain the success of its predecessor? We'll just have to wait for the planned launch to take place in the coming months.
