"Research has so far shown coffee drinking does not increase the risk of cardiovascular disease, and appears to lower the risk of some chronic diseases, such as type 2 diabetes," said lead researcher Lu Qi, quoted by The Independent, on Thursday, January 9, 2025.
Through this study, Lu Qi also explained that the reason for drinking coffee in the morning is the best time and can add to the life expectancy. This is because drinking coffee in the afternoon or evening can interfere with the rhythm of circadian and melatonin hormone levels, which are at risk for cardiovascular disease.
"This, in turn, causes changes to cardiovascular risk factors such as inflammation and blood pressure," concluded Lu Qi.
