Taxpayers Can't Hide Assets, DEN Reveals Scintax System Can Verify Real Time

JAKARTA - The National Economic Council (DEN) fully supports the Directorate General of Taxes (DJP) of the Ministry of Finance (Kemenkeu) in implementing the quintex in becoming the backbone of national tax reform.

Executive Secretary of the Indonesian National Economic Council Septian Hario Seto said that the implementation of the beliax can increase taxpayers' compliance so that it can encourage state revenues.

"Because we see with the beliax, compliance with Taxpayers can be significantly improved. Therefore, in a report to the President (Prabowo Subianto) we convey that we at the DEN fully support the implementation of this coretax which has started on January 1, 2025," he said at a press conference, Thursday, January 9.

Seto explained, although in its implementation there are still some shortcomings, this is a natural thing because the system was only implemented in early 2025.

"If there is still a shortage here and there, it is natural because the system has just been implemented. But we believe that the Ministry of Finance and the Director General of Taxes will work hard to develop their system so that it can run well," he said.

Seto said that the beliax system, which has been implemented this month, allows real-time recording and verification of transactions, supports taxpayer compliance, and optimizes state revenues.

In addition, according to him, the beliax system is important in significantly increasing taxpayer compliance and the DEN also fully supports the implementation of the graffiti.

Therefore, Seto explained that data entered into the beliax system could be detected whether Taxpayers were required to enter the data correctly or incorrectly.

"This can be detected in the beliax. For example, if someone enters the total number of assets, the number of cars or the number of houses is less than what they actually own, this can be seen directly detected in the scribbles," he said.
