KPK Denies Dramatic Allegations Of Hasto Kristiyanto's Case
JAKARTA - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) has denied anyndramatizing the bribery case for the management of interim replacement (PAW) members of the DPR and the obstruction of the investigation that ensnared the Secretary General of the PDI-P (PDIP) Hasto Kristiyanto.
The examination of witnesses and searches carried out is confirmed to only aim to prove the crime that occurred.
This was conveyed by the Director of Investigation of the KPK Asep Guntur Rahayu when asked about the statement by the Chairman of the PDIP DPP Ronny B. Talapesy after the search was carried out at Hasto's house on Tuesday, January 7.
"KPK is asked not to dramatize and controversy, in fact, we investigators are more focused on examining, requesting information, summoning witnesses, searching. The efforts we are doing are in order to fulfill the alleged articles," Asep told reporters at the KPK's Merah Putih building, Kuningan Persada, South Jakarta, Wednesday, January 8.
Asep also said that the KPK had never made statements or taken excessive actions.
For searches at Hasto's house, for example, Asep said that the forced effort was made because investigators believed there was evidence related to the case being handled.
"So we had to make forced efforts there, search in order to find and find the evidence," he said.
"So it's not in the context of going to his (Hasto, red) house now in Bekasi in order to dramatize then to Kebagusan, no," continued Asep.
Likewise with the summoning of witnesses and suspects in this case. Asep emphasized that there was no intention of dramatizing because investigators needed more information.
"In order to find or summon someone, for example calling person A or person B is not in order to dramatize. However, we need the information to prove or complete the elements of the articles suspected of him," he explained.

Previously reported, PDIP DPP Chairman Ronny B. Talapesy asked the KPK to professionally handle allegations of bribery in the management of interim replacement (PAW) members of the DPR and the obstruction of the investigation that ensnared PDIP Secretary General Hasto Kristiyanto.
This lawyer initially highlighted the evidence found during the search of Hasto's house in Bekasi, West Java and Kebagusan, South Jakarta.
"We need to convey that in the two searches there was no significant evidence related to the case. During the search in Bekasi, the confiscated items were 1 USB and 1 notebook belonging to Kusnadi (Hasto Kristiyanto staff)," said Ronny in a written statement, Tuesday, January 8.
"Meanwhile, during the search in Kebagusn, no items were confiscated," he continued.
This condition made Ronny question the suitcase brought by investigators from Hasto's house. "We don't know if it has contents or is empty," he said.
According to him, it doesn't make sense when investigators only confiscate flash drives and small books but use suitcases.
"Our client has never felt like he owns or uses the USB confiscated by the KPK," said Ronny.
Thus, the KPK was asked to be professional. Do not let the investigation of this case be dramatized.
Ronny ensured that if all the principles of law enforcement were obeyed by the KPK, then his party would cooperate. "We hope that the KPK will work professionally, not highlighting aspects of controversy and excessive Dramatic towards the public," he said.
"As Mr. Hasto Kristiyanto's attorney, we appreciate the steps taken by the KPK as long as it is in accordance with the criminal procedural law," explained the party cadre bearing the bull symbol.
