Consumption Of Soil And Avtur Rising During Christmas And New Year

JAKARTA - The Upstream Oil and Gas Regulatory Agency (BPH Migas) reported an increase in consumption of kerosene or kerosene and avtur during the 2024 Christmas and 2025 New Year posts.

Head of the Downstream Oil and Gas Regulatory Agency (BPH Migas) Erika Retnowati revealed, based on monitoring the Nataru Command Post from 19 December 2024 to 7 January 2025, the distribution of avtur was recorded to have increased by 5.81 percent. Meanwhile, kerosee aka kerosene consumption increased by 3.86 percent.

"Distribution during the post compared to normal for kerosene and avtur has increased along with increased household activities and increased mobility by using aircraft," Erika said at a press conference in Jakarta, Tuesday, January 7.

Erika further explained that the highest national fuel distribution compared to normal distribution occurred 3 times, namely on December 21, 2024, December 28 and January 4. On December 21, gasoline consumption rose 8.05 percent, while gasoil rose 8.16 percent, kerosene 60.81 percent and avtur 13.17 percent.

On December 28, gasoline consumption was recorded at 6.45 percent, gasoil rose 5.64 percent, kerosene chartered up by 30.66 and avtur increased by 4.91 percent. Finally, gasoline consumption on January 4 was recorded at 6.42 percent, gasoil decreased 4.48 percent, kerosene rose 16.32 percent and avtur rose 4.20 percent.

"Gasoil has decreased by 5.82 percent due to operational restrictions on goods trucks and decreased industrial activity," explained Erika.

He ensured that BPH Migas continued to monitor stock volume and realization of daily fuel distribution, as well as carry out field supervision to monitor conditions for the provision and distribution of fuel spread across 58 districts/cities and 22 provinces.

"The results of the supervision, namely the distribution of fuel, are safe and smooth," said Erika.
