List Of Defending Champions Of Malaysia Open, Indonesia Does Not Exist
JAKARTA Of the nine Indonesian representatives who will play at the Malaysia Open 2025 this week, none of them have the status of defending champions.
Malaysia Open 2025 is scheduled to take place on January 7-12 2025. Last year, Indonesian representatives returned from the tournament without securing a single title.
In two previous editions, Indonesia won two titles. The 2022 edition was obtained by women's doubles Apriyani Rahayu/Siti Fadia Silva Ramadhanti and the 2023 edition was Fajar Alfian/Muhammad Rian Ardianto who won.
In the 2024 edition, China emerged to become the overall champion with two titles, each from the men's doubles and women's doubles sectors. The other three titles were secured by Denmark, Japan, and South Korea.
Two Chinese titles were won by Liang Weikeng/Wang Chang from the men's doubles and Liu Shengshu/Tan Ning from the women's doubles. This year Liang/Wang are the second seed and Liu/Tan are the first seed.

Liang/Wang will start their journey this year against Kim Gi-jung/Kim Sa-rang from South Korea. Liu/Tan met Julie Finne-Ipsen/Mai Surrow from Denmark.
Then the other three titles last year were obtained by Anders Antonsen (Denmark) for the men's singles, An Se-young (South Korea) for the women's singles, and Yuta Watanabe/Arisa Higashino (Japan) in the mixed doubles number.
Antonsen and An Se-young are on the list this year, while Yuta/Arisa will certainly not maintain the title because they have decided to separate.
It is certain that they will not be in this year's mixed doubles draw because the rankings do not meet the requirements. This year Japan only lowered Hiroki Midorikawa/Natsu Saito.
In the first half, Antonsen as the second seed will face the singles Wang Tzu Wei (China Taipei) and An Se-youg in Line Christophersen (Denmark).
