Korlantas Applies 2025 Point Reduction, Drivers Have 12 Points A Year Reduced Every Violation
JAKARTA - The Traffic Corps (Korlantas) of the National Police said the implementation of the point reduction system for traffic violators will take effect in 2025.
Head of Korlantas Polri Inspector General Pol. Aan Suhanan said the point system was called a traffic activity report using a driving fit value system (merit point system).
"This will later become safety data on people's behavior in driving or traffic on the road with the parameters being traffic violations and traffic accidents," he said in his statement, Sunday, January 5, which was confiscated by Antara.
Aan explained that a driver who has a driving license (SIM) gets 12 points a year. If you commit a minor violation, it will be reduced by one point.
If you commit a moderate violation, he said, it will be reduced by three points. If you commit a serious violation, it will be reduced by five points.
"If an accident causes the victim to die, minus 12 points. The hit and run can be immediately revoked by the driver's license," said Kakorlantas.

If the points expire within a period of 1 year, he continued, a driver's license will be withdrawn or blocked.
"Later on, when it is extended, it must be repeated. If it was the hit and run, it could be revoked, it would also permanently revoke the driver's license," he said.
These points, he continued, will be integrated in the issuance of a police records certificate (SKCK).
"We will provide notes on how many times this SIM has violated traffic, how many times it was involved in traffic accidents," he explained.
Apart from the points, Korlantas will also tighten supervision of motorists through electronic traffic law enforcement (ETLE).
"This is one of the efforts in providing legal certainty to the community," he concluded.
