Man City Already Forgets Premier League Titel

JAKARTA - Manchester City has stopped the bad trend of never winning. Only, the defending champion chose to forget the English Premier League title.

Man City's ambitions set a league title record by winning it for the fifth time in a row. But that ambition seems to be starting to be difficult to achieve due to the poor performance of Pep Guardiola's team who had lost a lot of points in various matches.

Luckily, they were finally able to stop that bad trend when they beat Leicester City 2-0. However, Man City has not moved from his position which has been knocked out of big emars because he has only won twice from the last 10 matches. Even Man City, who pocketed 31 points, was already 14 points behind the leaders of the Liverpool standings.

The distance between the two teams is quite far. But Man City can actually still hunt Liverpool because the second round of the competition has just started.

Only midfielder Bernardo Silva said that it was difficult for Man City to compete with Liverpool and other clubs to occupy the top.

"It's time for us to accept that fact. We are no longer chasing Liverpool. We are still in sixth place in the league. We can't hunt Liverpool or Arsenal," Silva was quoted as saying by Sky Sports.

According to Silva, Man City's chances are certainly not closed because nothing is impossible. However, Man City has found it difficult to compete in the race for the league title.

"We only focus on every game ahead and try to win the game," he said.

"I'm not saying nothing is impossible. In football nothing is impossible. But Man City has definitely been knocked out of the league title race. We are too late," said the Portuguese national team player.

"Some say you can't confirm winning the league until January. But this season in fact we have failed," he said.
