Manado-Bitung Toll Road Topolang Industrial And Tourism Areas
JAKARTA - The Manado-Bitung Toll Road, North Sulawesi managed by PT Jasa Marga Manado Bitung (JMB) is an important access to boost North Sulawesi's economic growth.
"This 39,775 km toll road is the main route for transportation movements to port areas and tourism in the Manado and Bitung areas," said Acting President Director of PT JMB, Muhammad Taufiq quoting Antara.
The Manado-Bitung Toll Road, he said, is the first toll road in North Sulawesi Province to fully operate on February 26, 2022.
"Until now, its existence has been able to have a positive impact on the environment and surrounding areas," he said.
Dalam perkembangan ekonomi di Sulawesi Utara, jalan Tol Manado-Bitung merupakan akses menghubung wilayah Kota Manado, Kabupaten Minahasa Utara sampai Kota Bitung dimana terdapat Pelabuhan Hub Internasional dan Kawasan Ekonomi Khusus (KEK) Bitung.
In addition, the existence of the toll road encourages the development of new points for the fishery and tourism industrial area in North Sulawesi and is a distribution route for logistics transportation to and from the North Sulawesi region.
The existence of the road, said Muhammad Taufiq, also increases the development of the tourism industry in the Bitung area, such as the Batu Angus tourist attraction which can be reached faster through the Bitung Toll Gate (GT), as well as destinations in the Likupang area which are easily accessible through the Danowudu GT.
The Manado-Bitung toll road section has five toll gates, namely Manado GT, Airmadidi GT, Kauditan GT, Danowudu GT and Bitung GT.
Judging from the average number of vehicles per day passing at 5 gates of the Manado-Bitung Toll Road during 2024, there were 2.06 million vehicles or an average of 5,637 vehicles per day.
This figure increased by 2.2 percent when compared to the average number of vehicles per day in 2023 of 5,517 thousand vehicles per day.
The existence of the Manado-Bitung Toll Road cut the travel time for vehicles from Manado to Bitung.
Road users take about an hour if they use non-toll roads, while by going through the Manado-Bitung Toll Road, toll road users only need about 30 minutes.
