KPK Continues To Look For Other Parties Involved In The Harun Masiku Case

The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) has confirmed that it will thoroughly investigate the bribery case for the interim replacement (PAW) which initially ensnared former PDIP candidate Harun Masiku. Investigators are certain not to just remain silent.

"So we don't just block, we just look for HM, no. Investigators are still investigating who else is involved," said KPK spokesman Tessa Mahardhika to reporters quoted on Saturday, January 4.

Tessa said this step was carried out to examine a number of witnesses. Including, the possibility of summoning immigration officials who are considered to know about Harun's crossing, which is still at large today.

"Of course investigators have a list based on the testimony of witnesses who have been summoned based on evidence, be it documents or electronic evidence that has been confiscated," said the spokesman with the investigator's background.

"When he is summoned, yes, investigators have their own timeline, I think. In time, if there is information needed, we will convey it," continued Tessa.

As previously reported, Harun Masiku, who is a former PDIP candidate, is a suspect in giving bribes to former KPU commissioner Wahyu Setiawan. This gift was given so that he could sit as a member of the DPR through the interim shift (PAW).

Harun is currently unknown or has been a fugitive since 2020 or for four years. He escaped the KPK's hand arrest operation (OTT).

In an effort to search, the KPK has now updated its wanted list (DPO) on behalf of Harun Masiku. The file was signed by the Deputy Chairperson of the KPK, Nurul Ghufron, on December 5, 2024 and registered with the number: R/5739/DIK.01.02/01-23/12/2024.

In this case, the anti-corruption commission again named three suspects. They are the Secretary General of PDIP Hasto Kristiyanto and Donny Tri Istiqomah as PDIP cadres and lawyers as suspects in alleged bribery related to the interim replacement (PAW) of members of the DPR RI.

Hasto is also a suspect in the obstruction of the investigation. He is suspected of carrying out a number of ways to make the case unfinished, one of which asked Harun to destroy his cellphone and run away after the arrest operation (OTT) was held.

Even though he was a suspect, Hasto and Donny had not been detained but had been prevented from leaving the country for six months. The same prohibition also applies to the former Minister of Law and Human Rights (Menkumham) of the era of President Joko Widodo, Yasonna H Laoly.
