Again, Police Arrest 7 Teenagers With Sajam About To Brawl In Cengkareng

JAKARTA - The police arrested seven teenagers armed with sharp weapons (sajam) who were about to fight on Jalan Pelita, Cengkareng, West Jakarta after the New Year's celebration, Wednesday.

Head of Samapta Polres Metro West Jakarta, AKBP M Hari Agung Julianto said the arrests began with reports from residents who suspected a group of motorized youths carrying sharp weapons who were suspected of wanting to fight after the New Year celebrations.

"The Precision Pioneer Patrol Team (TP3) who was on patrol after the New Year's celebration immediately responded to the report and moved to the location," Agung said when confirmed in Jakarta on Wednesday.

Arriving at the location, the police found a group of youths with the characteristics as reported by residents.

The TP3 team immediately gave chase and succeeded against the perpetrators.

"After successfully securing the seven teenagers and confiscating three sickle-type weapons, the team conducted a search at the location to ensure the situation was completely safe," said Agung.

The perpetrator and the evidence were then taken to the Cengkareng Police for further investigation.

Agung emphasized that this effort is part of the commitment of the West Jakarta Metro Police in maintaining security and order after the new year's celebration.

"We urge the public, especially the younger generation, not to be involved in harmful activities, such as brawls, because we will act decisively against violations of the law," said Agung.
