PHR Produces 58 Million Barrels Of Oil During 2024

JAKARTA - PT Pertamina Hulu Rokan (PHR) throughout 2024 has produced 58 million barrels of oil and has all been distributed to Pertamina's domestic refineries.

"I appreciate all the workers who worked hard during 2024 until the year-end lifting process," said PT PHR's UPstream Business EVP Andre Wijarnako as reported by ANTARA, Wednesday, January 1.

According to Andre, his party continues to strive to increase production by implementing the best practices and performance and using the latest technology in operation.

He said, as a cooperation contractor (KKS) Hulu Migas, which operates in 7 regencies/cities in Riau Province with an operating area of WK Rokan 6,200 km2.

"Since the transfer of management of the Rokan WK, PHR has recorded 1,539 new wells to support national energy security. From the well tax at the end of 2024, PHR produces more than 160,000 barrels of oil per day," he also said.

The main contribution of production comes from drilling new wells and the implementation of workover and well intervention work. PHR made various efforts to maintain production with various innovations and technologies to increase the production of oil wells in Rokan WK.

He said that during 2024 PHR also succeeded in Fracture in conventional wells and Multi Stage Fracture in horizontal wells, carrying out drilling for the exploration of Gulamo DET-1 Non Conventional Oil and Gas (MNK) wells and Kelok DET-1 which proved oil potential, as well as previously relied on technologies such as steamflood and waterflood.

This activity was carried out to support the government's efforts as expected by President Prabowo that Indonesia must be able to carry out energy self-sufficiency.

"Therefore, PHR as the backbone of upstream oil and gas will continue to produce optimally and become the main contributor to national energy needs," said Andre.

Based on data, there are 80 active fields with 11,300 wells and 35 collection stations (gathering stations). WK Rokan produces a quarter of national crude oil or a third of Pertamina's production.

In addition to producing oil and gas for the country, PHR manages social and environmental responsibility programs with a focus on education, health, community and environmental economics.
