Central Sulawesi Parigi Police Handle Members Of The Rank Police Brigadier Of Drug Dealers

The Parigi Moutong Resort Police (Polres) handled a member of the police with the rank of Brigadier with the initials DP as a suspect in a drug case and is currently undergoing legal proceedings.

"From January to December 2024, the number of suspects in drug cases was around 59 people, one of whom was a police officer," said Parigi Moutong Police Chief AKBP Jovan Reagan Sumual at a year-end press conference achieving various disclosures of cases taking place in Parigi, Central Sulawesi (Sulteng), Tuesday 31 December, confiscated by Antara.

He revealed that the handling of drug abuse cases handled by his party during 2024 was 49 cases, the investigation process was seven cases, then the handling of case stages one seven cases, handling stage two or P21 as many as 32 cases, SP3 one case and rehabilitation of two cases.

Of the 59 drug suspects, 53 male suspects and six female suspects, most of the cases have been transferred to the Parigi District Attorney (Kejari) for further legal handling.

"Evidence of 622.34 grams of methamphetamine from 529 drug packages," he said.

Head of Drugs at the Parigi Moutong Police, Iptu Nasir Mangaseng, added that specifically for the suspect, a police officer is suspected of Article 114 paragraph (2) of Law Number 35 of 2009 concerning Narcotics with a minimum penalty of 6 years and a maximum of 20 years.

The police officer with the rank of Brigadier acted as a dealer, DP was arrested along with a woman who is also a suspect in a drug case.

"A woman arrested with DP is a recidivist of the same case," he said.

He said, in terms of the professional code of ethics, the Parigi Moutong Police Propam is currently also handling according to legal procedures.
