Entering 2025, Puan: The State Must Be Present And Make It Easier For The People

JAKARTA - The chairman of the Indonesian House of Representatives, Puan Maharani, invites all elements of the nation to work together to build the country into 2025, especially after facing the dynamics of the 2024 General Election. Puan also asked the state to be present and facilitate the affairs of the people.

"In 2024, Indonesia will undergo a long series of elections. Starting from the legislative and presidential elections at the beginning of this year, and ending in the regional elections. After all the series of elections are over, national political energy should be directed to build the nation and state," said Puan in her statement, Tuesday, December 31.

Puan hopes that all elements of the nation will join hands in 2025 which will start tomorrow. Moreover, he said, Indonesia still faces various challenges such as national development, both external and internal.

For this reason, Puan assesses that comprehensive policies are needed that can overcome these challenges. According to him, this is a joint task of stakeholders to ensure an increase in people's welfare.

"Fiscal, monetary policies, the real sector and national development policies are needed, which can consolidate the national agenda in building national powers in the food sector, human resources, regional development, national industries, export commodities, and so on," said the chairman of the PDIP DPP.

The former Coordinating Minister for Human Development and Culture also encouraged the quality of the performance of State Apparatus, Bureaucratics, business climates, and legal certainty to continue to be strengthened. According to Puan, this is important to strive for in the midst of the many dynamics going forward.

"The state must truly present and provide a way for the people to get good service, which helps, makes it easier, and is prosperous," he said.

As the leader of the DPR RI, Puan ensured that parliament would continue to be a partner of the Government in carrying out constitutional tasks to build the nation and state. "The DPR is committed to continuing to work in order to realize the expectations of the people," said Bung Karno's grandson.

Puan also reminded the authorities to increase their vigilance and full alert in maintaining security throughout Indonesia. Especially on New Year's Eve until the end of the year holiday moment is over because there will be many activities and community mobility.

"Security forces, both from the National Police, TNI, and other related parties, must ensure the safety of the community during the moment of New Year's celebration," said Puan.
