Sales Of Long-distance Train Tickets For The Nataru Period Are 94 Percent, The New Local Train Is 70 Percent
PT Kereta Api Indonesia (Persero) or KAI recorded that the number of long-distance train tickets (KA JJ) for the Christmas 2024 and New Year 2025 (Nataru) periods was 2,609,238 or 94 percent of the total seats provided.
KAI Vice President Public Relations Anne Purba said that sales of local trains alone only reached 563,484 tickets or 70 percent of the total number of seats provided, namely 801,724 tickets.
"Based on data today, Tuesday, December 31, 2024, the number of tickets for JJ trains and local trains that have been sold is 3,172,722 tickets from the total seating capacity provided by KAI is 3,572,588 passengers," he said in an official statement, Tuesday, December 31.
Anne stressed that the number of ticket sales will continue to change dynamically and increase, as sales are still ongoing.
Furthermore, Anne said that for Medium/Far Distance Trains ticket bookings can be done by H-45, while the local trains themselves can only be ordered H-30 before departure and there are also several trains that can only be ordered D-7 before departure.
"KAI hopes that the public can immediately book tickets and plan a vacation carefully because several train tickets during the Nataru era have started to run out," said Anne.
Anne said the flow of departures and arrivals for the Nataru holiday has been closely monitored, even some of the trains that are the prima donna for occupancy have exceeded 100 percent.

Anne said that the Nataru period from 19 December 2024 to 5 January 2025 KAI Group provided a total of 44,754,280 seats. Consisting of 3,572,588 KAI Passengers, 35,407,300 KAI Commuter Passengers, 4,142,520 Jabodebek LRT Passengers, and 588,304 South Sumatra LRT Passengers.
Then, 7,416 KAI Wisata Passengers, 487,728 KAI Airport Passengers, 29,160 Makassar-Parepare Train Passengers and 519,264 KCIC Passengers.
The total number of KAI Group trips is 40,782 trains with details of 7,328 train trips managed by KAI, 23,204 train trips managed by KAI Commuter, and 1,872 train trips managed by KAI Airport.

Then, 5,598 Jabodebek LRT trips, 1,772 South Sumatra LRT trips, 36 KAI-Tourism managed trips, 108 Makassar-Parepare trains and 864 KCIC-managed airshed trips.
"Overall, KAI Group has delivered 16,552,593 passengers in Java, Sumatra and Sulawesi during this Nataru period," he said.
