Israeli Military Makes Kamal Adwan Gaza Hospital Paralyzed, 7 Critical Patients Moved To Indonesian Hospital

JAKARTA - The arrest of the Director of the Kamal Adwan Hospital, Hossam Abu Safiyeh made the important and last health unit operating in northern Gaza paralyzed so that it did not operate.

Critical patients being treated at Kamal Adwan Hospital have been transferred to the Indonesian Hospital in Gaza. The Indonesian hospital has been badly damaged by previous Israeli military airstrikes.

"In the midst of ongoing chaos in northern Gaza, WHO and partners today sent basic medical equipment and hygiene, food and water to Indonesian hospitals and transferred 10 critical patients to Al-Shifa Hospital," Tedros said via his X account, Monday 30 December.

"We urge Israel to ensure their health care needs and rights are met."

Tedros explained that the Indonesian hospital was badly damaged. However, due to limitations, seven critical patients and 15 medics are still being treated at the Indonesian Hospital in Gaza which has the inability to take medical action.

"Al-Ahli Hospital and Al-Wafa Rehabilitation Hospital in Gaza City also faced attacks today and both were damaged," Tedros said.

Tedros stressed that Israel must stop its military offensive targeting hospitals in Gaza amid a health crisis.

"We repeat: stop attacks on hospitals. People in Gaza need access to health care. Humanitarian workers need access to provide health assistance," he said.

Since October 6, 2024, Israeli military operations in Gaza have focused in the north. Israeli officials remain under the pretext of ground and military air attacks they aim to prevent Hamas from gathering again without considering the safety of civilians.

As for the latest data, the death toll from the Israeli attack on Gaza since October 2023 has reached 45,484 people.

Meanwhile, 108,090 people were injured as a result of the genocide attack that Israel is currently carrying out.
