Badminton Malaysia Confirms Interested In Gaet Herry IP
JAKARTA The Badminton Association of Malaysia (BAM) confirmed that they had contacted Herry Iman Pierngadi regarding vacancies for the men's doubles coach.
BAM Secretary General Datuk Kenny Goh revealed that Herry IP was among the several candidates they wanted to get.
"Yes, it's true we have contacted Herry, but there has been no decision," Kenny was quoted as saying by the New Straits Times.
Herry IP, 62, has previously opened his voice to justify BAM's interest in him to replace the position left by Tan Bin Shen.
The coach nicknamed Naga Api expressed his willingness to consider the role if the offer given was in line with his expectations.

Apart from Herry IP, BAM is also considering a Danish coach, Mathias Boe, and Indonesian coach, Flandy Limpele, as potential candidates.
"We are still in the process of interviewing with several other candidates. So, it will take time before we make a decision," said Kenny.
During his time as a coach, Herry was noted to have succeeded in guiding several Indonesian men's doubles pairs to win world titles and the Olympics.
His students include Tony Gunawan/Candra Wijaya and Hendra Setiawan/Markis Kido. These two pairs are Olympic gold medalists.
In addition, he also guided Hendra with Mohammad Ahsan, the pair who won various world titles and the All England crown.
Another pair who were successful under Herry IP's cold hands were Marcus Fernaldi Gideon/Kevin Sanjaya Sukamuljo. They are the world's former world number one pair and the All England title winner.
