President Director Of Damri Ensures Public Transportation Tickets Don't Get 12 Percent VAT
JAKARTA - President Director (Managing Director) of Perum Damri Setia N Milatia Moemin ensured that public transportation ticket prices were not subject to a 12 percent value added tax (VAT).
The increase in VAT will take effect in early January 2025.
Based on regulations that have been issued since December 21, he continued, the transportation sector, especially public transportation, has not been affected by the increase in VAT by 12 percent.
"So, initially there were except public transport, but nothing else. Now there is a written statement Number 3 of 2024 regarding VAT 12 percent, public transportation has been written not to be subject to VAT. Because this is for the benefit of the community at large," he said at a press conference, at the Ministry of SOEs Office, Jakarta, Monday, December 23.
Similarly, the President Director of PT Kereta Api Indonesia (Persero) or KAI Didiek Hartantyo reminded the public not to worry about the increase in VAT of 12 percent. This is because trains are also not affected by the increase in taxes.
"It's clear we didn't get it. So people don't have to worry," said Didiek.
For your information, Finance Minister Sri Mulyani had previously said that the government allocated a budget of IDR 265.6 trillion for the provision of value added tax incentives (VAT) in eight sectors in 2025.
