The Contents Of Prabowo's Speech In Egypt: The Standard Sentile Of Double Human Rights And The Weak Solidarity Of Muslim Countries

JAKARTA - The President of the Republic of Indonesia, Prabowo Subianto, expressed his concern about double standards in implementing human rights (HAM) in the international world, especially those that often do not side with Muslims.

The statement was delivered in his speech at the special session of the 11th Development Eight (D-8) Summit which took place at the Presidential Palace of New Administrative Capital, Cairo, Egypt, Thursday, December 19 local time.

"Human rights are not for Muslims. This is in reality, very sad," Prabowo said, as quoted from the press release page of the Presidential Secretariat.

Prabowo also highlighted the lack of international respect for the voices of Muslim countries. He called the strategy of divide et impera or divided politics one of the main factors that weakens solidarity between Muslim countries.

The division in several Muslim countries is a real example of internal conflicts between others. This is a reality and a sign of our weak solidarity on a number of issues, such as peace and humanity," he said.

Prabowo criticized that although many Muslim countries issued statements of support and provided humanitarian assistance to others, this step was not enough to create real changes.

"When our brothers are in trouble, we give statements of support and send humanitarian aid. Sorry, this is my opinion, but let's see the reality. We have to work together, equalize voice, and not be divided," he said.

In his speech, Prabowo called for the importance of close unity and cooperation among Muslim countries. He emphasized that the global solidarity of Muslims is needed to face increasingly complex world challenges.

"Indonesia will try its best, in any way we can, but I encourage unity. I encourage cooperation," he said.

President Prabowo also emphasized that Indonesia's commitment will continue to be strengthened to support strengthening cooperation between Muslim countries in various fields, including peace, development, and humanity.

This D-8 Summit is an important momentum for Indonesia to voice inclusive leadership and build strong solidarity among developing countries, especially among Muslim countries.
