Teken Kontrak Bareng NASA, Thailand Kini Dukung Misi Explorasi Bulan Artemis

JAKARTA Thailand signed the Artemis Agreement on December 16 in Bangkok. With the inauguration of this collaboration, NASA officially welcomes Thailand as a supporter of the Artemis exploration mission.

Recently, NASA welcomed Panama and Austria as the 49th and 50th countries supporting the Artemis mission. That way, Thailand will become the 51st country to commit to supporting safe and responsible space exploration.

NASA administrator Bill Nelson said that joining Thailand was a good decision for the US and other countries listed as the Artemis Family. The more countries that join, the better exploration will go.

"Thai's commitment to the Artemis Agreement will increase the country's involvement with NASA and the international community," Nelson said. Thailand builds an important foundation and demonstrates great leadership for open, responsible, and peaceful space exploration.

The party representing Thailand in signing a memorandum of understanding was the Executive Director of the Thailand Geoinformatics and Space Technology Development Agency (GISTDA), Pakorn Apaphant. After signing the contract, Apafant believes that joining the Artemis mission is the right decision.

"Thailand will enter the golden age of space exploration with full strength," said Apaphant. Thailand has become part of the Artemis Agreement and will contribute to the success of exploration missions on the Moon to Mars.

Apart from Apaphant, several parties were also present at the signing ceremony of the Artemis Agreement. Nelson could not attend in person so he was represented by the US Ambassador to Thailand, Robert Godec. There was also the Minister of Higher Education, Science, Research and Innovation of Thailand, Supamas Isarabhakdi, who was also present at the ceremony.
