Police Arrest 2 Male Drone Operators Near Logan Boston Airport
JAKARTA - Two men were arrested for flying drones "very close to Logan International Airport, Massachusetts, United States.
Robertok (42) and Jeremy Folcik (32) were arrested by members of the Boston Police Port Patrol Unit on Saturday last week.
The third suspect fled the scene by boat and has not been arrested, police said.
Police started monitoring the Unmanned Aircraft System at around 16.30 last weekend.
By utilizing advanced technology, the authorities can identify the exact location, altitude, flight history, and other data.
Based on this information, they know that this object has the potential to pose a threat to the airspace of Logan Airport.
The Boston Police Department then coordinated with Homeland Security, Massachusetts State Police, the Joint Terrorism Task Force, the Federal Communications Commission, and the Air Traffic Control of Logan Airport to address the situation.
Officers from the Port Patrol Unit were sent to Long Island, part of the Boston Harbor Islands.
Inside the deactivated Long Island Health Campus, there were three people who fled on foot when the police approached.
One drone was found in a backpack carried by a sickle.
