Embezzle Rental Car, ASN Kejari Lubuk Pakam Arrested
The Criminal Investigation Unit of the Medan Tembung Police managed to arrest a housewife along with a man suspected of embezzling dozens of rental cars in the city of Medan, North Sumatra. In addition to arresting the two suspects, the police also secured six units of the crime car.
The suspects arrested were Wasty Sinaga (44), a resident of Medan Sinembah Village, Tanjung Morawa District, Deli Serdang Regency, and Ronal Fransius Situmorang (45), a resident of Pagar Merbau Village, Lubuk Pakam District, Deli Serdang Regency. Ronal is known to work as a state civil servant (ASN) at the Lubuk Pakam District Attorney.
Both were arrested at their respective residences in Deli Serdang Regency. When interrogated, the two admitted their actions related to embezzlement of rental cars.
From the results of the arrest and development of the case, the police confiscated six units of luxury cars of various types and brands from the victims. The six cars were confiscated from the hands of the recipients of the car pawn which was part of the suspect's crime mode.
Medan Police Chief Kombes Pol. Gidion Arif Setyawan explained that this case was revealed after the Medan Tembung Police received 20 reports from the victim. Based on the report, the police conducted an investigation until they finally arrested the two suspects.
"The method is to borrow or rent a vehicle. The victims are rental car owners, both individuals and legal entities. We confiscated 6 cars," said Gidion.
According to Gidion, the suspect Wasty Sinaga played a role in finding a rental car, then handed the car over to Ronal Fransius Situmorang. Ronal then pawned the car to the residents.

"We are still looking for 14 cars. The report is 20 cars and we have secured six units," he said.
Now, the two suspects in the embezzlement of rental cars in Medan are in the detention cell of the Medan Tembung Police. They were charged with Article 378 or Article 372 of the Criminal Code concerning fraud and embezzlement with a penalty of more than five years in prison.
