Gregoria Draw Statistics Against Group Phase BWF World Tour Finals 2024
JAKARTA Gregoria Mariska Tunjung has balanced statistics with two of the three women's singles in the BWF World Tour Finals 2024 group stage.
The bronze medalist at the 2024 Paris Olympics will start his journey in Group A against the Japanese women's singles, Aya Ohori, on Wednesday, December 11, 2024.
In the same group, there is also the host's women's singles, Wang Zhi Yi, who currently occupies the world number one and Busanan Ongbamrungphan from Thailand.
"From the draw, I think this is pretty good, but I shouldn't underestimate it because all the players who qualify here are the best players," Gregoria said in the statement.
On paper, Gregoria and Aya Ohori have met four times before. Of the four duels, both of them won twice and lost twice.

Gregoria also has the same strong statistics as Wang Zhi Yi. They have previously faced six times with the same strong winning-loss record, 3-3.
The 2017 junior world champion only has an advantage with Ongbamrungphan. He was recorded to have won seven times and only lost three times in the previous 10 competitive duels.
"From me, I hope to win all matches in the group stage. However, I want to focus first in the first match."
"Want to be able to play loose, play well, and be able to adapt to the field conditions," Gregoria hoped.
Gregoria is in top condition ahead of the tournament. He previously faced injury problems while playing in the semifinals of the Denmark Open 2024, but is now recovering.
The 25-year-old said that he has ambitions to get the best results in the tournament which is the closing of the season.
"What is being prepared is a lot because I know for sure all opponents have studied my game. So, I can't lose on the pattern of strategy," he said.
This is Gregoria's third appearance at the BWF World Tour Finals. On the previous two occasions in 2022 and 2023, he immediately returned home in the group stage.
