The combination of Lulinha and Maxuel again threatened Madura's goal in the 31st minute. The through ball directed by Lulinha was almost perfectly achieved by Maxuel.
Unfortunately, Maxuel, who did not control the ball perfectly, fell while trying to trick the opposing player. This made the referee decide to check the VAR, but the result was no penalty kick.
After that, it was Semen Padang's turn to threaten the Laskar Sape Kerab goal. Cornelius, who was already facing one-on-one with goalkeeper Wagner Dos Santos, was still unable to produce an opening goal for Semen Padang.

In the second half, Madura United immediately appeared to press through Maxuel's hard kick from outside the penalty box. However, this opportunity again failed to produce a goal for the home team.
The game between the two teams became even tougher. However, heavy rain fell at the Gelora Bangkalan Stadium, making the field conditions stagnant, which made it difficult for both teams to pass the ball so that the game did not run smoothly.
Towards the end of the second half, Semen Padang almost broke the deadlock in the 80th minute. Starting from Michibuchi's high pass which was greeted by Cornelius' header and the ball had entered Madura United's goal.
However, the goal was disallowed by the referee because the Semen Padang player who continued Cornelius' header was already in an offside position.
Five minutes later, it was Madura United's turn to create an opportunity through Lulinha who tried to score a hard kick from outside the penalty box. The Brazilian player's kick was still wide of the right side of Teguh Amiruddin's goal.
Semen Padang finally managed to break the deadlock in the 90th minute. The corner kick was perfectly met by Michibuchi with his header and made the score 1-0 until the long whistle was blown.
