Pulisic Injured In The First Round When Milan Lost To Atalanta
JAKARTA - The captain of the United States national team, Christian Pulisic, was forced to leave the field due to a right calf injury in the first half in AC Milan's 1-2 defeat to Atalanta, Saturday, December 7, 2024, early morning WIB.
The 26-year-old was replaced by Ruben Loftus-Cheek in the 38th minute of the match at the Gewiss Atalanta Stadium after appearing to slip on the pitch when he was fouled by Mario Pasic.
Pulisic, whose shot was previously parried, sat on the ground holding his ankle and calf.
After that he was still trying to play even though he felt uncomfortable. He then signaled to the bench that he had to leave.
Pulisic was then helped leave the field and replaced when the score drew 1-1.

After the match, AC Milan manager Paulo Fonseca gave the latest convincing news about Pulisic injuries.
"It's a light calf injury, not serious," he told a news conference after the game.
In his second season with the Rossoneri, Pulisic has scored eight goals and provided six assists in 19 games.
Pulisic's injury caught the attention of his club ahead of the important Champions League match against Red Star Belgrade on December 12, 2024.
Meanwhile, AC Milan lost the first after seven matches in all competitions without defeat.
The last time the Rossoneri have lost was when they hosted Napoli in Serie A on October 30, 2024.
Ademola Lookman became actor in AC Milan's defeat with his goal in the final minute.
Fonseca then accused referee Federico La Penna of being the culprit for his troop defeat.
"I'm not afraid to tell the truth. I always respect the referee's job."
"I realize they have a difficult job, but it's always the same every week. The way referees lead all night shows a lack of respect for Milan," Fonseca told Sky Sport Italia.
AC Milan is now in seventh place in the Serie A 2024/2025 standings with 22 points from 14 matches.
While Atalanta's victory took them to the top of the standings with a collection of 34 points from 15 matches.
