Online Ojek Gets Subsidized Fuel Allocation, Minister Of MSMEs Calls Ojol And Pertamina Operators

JAKARTA - Minister of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) Maman Abdurrahman will summon online transportation operator companies such as Grab, Maxim and Gojek to complete data on online motorcycle taxi drivers who are partners.

This follows his statement stating that the ojol driver is included in the MSME category so that he is entitled to a subsidized fuel allocation.

"After this, we from the Ministry of MSMEs will summon several operator companies, one of which is Grab, Gojek and Maxim and several operator companies. We will ask for registered online motorcycle taxi data," he said at a press conference at the Cooperative Ministry Building, Friday, December 6.

This summons is intended to verify the data of ojol driver partners to then be matched with data belonging to PT Pertamina (Persero) so that ojol drivers can still fill Pertalite at Pertamina's gas stations.

After summoning the online transportation operator, Maman will also summon Pertamina officials in the near future.

"We will also call Pertamina and we will collect the data so that later at each gas station we can verify which motorcycle taxis are online and which ones are not," explained Maman.

Maman added that actually the big issue of subsidized fuel, both fuel and LPG subsidies, is related to the right target. The government, he said, wants subsidized fuel to only be intended for those who need it and cannot afford it. For this reason, government policies are needed to maintain the balance of the supply chain for micro-business goods.

"I want to emphasize, Alhamdulillah, we have met (online motorcycle taxi association). We pray that our brothers will continue to work to meet their daily needs," added Maman.

Just so you know, Maman has held an audience with online motorcycle taxi associations throughout Indonesia to explain about subsidized fuel for ojol.

"I emphasize once again, they still have the right to receive subsidized fuel allocations in their daily activities," said Maman.

As an assistant to the president, Maman said this was in accordance with President Prabowo Subianto's mandate to pay attention to the lowest economic base, one of which was ojol which was included in the MSME category.

"Securing the public transportation sector, where almost all of our people use ojol services, of course we must secure it," said Maman.
