Fire In Pasar Minggu Allegedly Caused By Electrical Short Circuit, Total Amount Of Loss Around IDR 2 Billion

JAKARTA - The Fire In Pasar Inpres Pasar Minggu, South Jakarta last night is suspected to have occurred due to a short circuit of electricity.

"The loss is approximate IDR 2 billion", said Public Relations of the Fire and Rescue Service (Gulkarmat) of DKI Jakarta Mulat Wijayanto in his statement, Tuesday, April 13.

Mulat explained that he received a report of a fire in Inpres Market at 18.29 p.m. local time. Initially, a merchant noticed a fire in one of the businesses in Block C of Inpres Market.

"The merchant then informed the other merchants and the fire was extinguished by other merchants and security, but failed and then they contacted the firefighters", Mulat said.

The South Jakarta Gulkarmat Service tribe deployed 31 pump cars as well as 116 fire personnel to put out the fire. After six hours, the fire was finally extinguished at 05.00 a.m. local time.

Around 8:30 p.m., the fire spread to almost the entire area of Block C. This block has an area of about 2.000 square meters.

It is recorded that there are 389 kiosks affected by the fire, with details of 268 kiosks on the basement floor, 120 kiosks on the ground floor, and 1 kiosk on the 1st floor.
