Satoru Mochizuki Asks The Indonesian Women's National Team To Be Alert To Cambodian Quality In The 2024 Women's AFF Cup Final
JAKARTA - The coach of the Indonesian Women's National Team, Satoru Mochizuki, will oversee the team for the final in the 2024 Women's AFF Cup. Against Cambodia in the final round, he asked Garuda Pertiwi to appear alert to the quality of the opponent.
"If it can reach the final, it means that they (Camboja) are a strong team that should be watched out for," said Satoru Mochizuki in a statement from PSSI quoted Thursday, December 5, 2024.
The Japanese coach's request for the team to be aware of the opponent is clearly reasonable. He did not want the foster children to be careless and release the championship trophy to Cambodia.
Because of that, Mochizuki asked Claudia Scheunemann and his friends to also focus on the game even though fatigue overshadows.
"It's been almost a month we've had a training camp and a 2024 Women's AFF Cup match. Of course there are fatigue, but I'm sure the opponent feels the same way," said the coach.

This match is quite fierce because both teams both advanced to the final with a record that they had not lost since the group stage.
In the group stage, the Indonesian Women's National Team had met Cambodia. At that time, the match also ended equally strongly without goals.
The 2024 Women's AFF Cup which was held in Cambodia was attended by six teams with the lowest rankings in the 2022 Women's AFF Cup, namely Cambodia, Indonesia, Malaysia, the host of Laos, Singapore, and Timor Leste.
Later, there will be three teams from the 2024 Women's AFF Cup that have the right to participate in the 2025 ASEAN Women's Championship. These three teams will compete with the five best teams, namely the Philippines, Thailand, Myanmar, Vietnam and Australia.
