Lee Yong-dae And Chen Long Enter BWF Hall Of Fame 2024
JAKARTA Badminton legend Lee Yong-dae from South Korea and Chen Long from China were officially elected to the ranks of the BWF Hall of Fame in 2024.
The international badminton parent BWF said in an official statement that the status of the two will be inaugurated at the 2024 BWF World Tour Finals Gala Dinner on Monday, December 9, 2024.
BWF president Poul-Erik Hoyer said Lee and Chen were included in the Hall of Fame ranks because of their historic contribution to badminton and their impact as role models and icons.
"Their achievements on and off the field have lifted badminton to a higher level. We are proud to celebrate their legacy by bringing them into the Hall of Fame BWF," he said.

Lee is praised as one of the most talented double players of all time. He amazed fans for his versatileness and captivating presence on the pitch.
He was recorded as winning the 2008 Olympic gold medal in Beijing at the age of 19. At that time, he was on the highest podium in the important event with his then co-star, Lee Hyo-jung.
In addition, Lee was also recorded as breaking records with 46 Superseries/World Tour titles. He was also included in the squad that won the 2014 Asian Games men's team gold medal.
Then, regarding Chen, who is widely known as 'China's Big Sign', is part of the milestone in the victory of the Bamboo Curtain country badminton.
His ability to perform under pressure made him one of the best men's singles players in the country's history.
Chen's long career was decorated with a number of impressive achievements, including the 2016 Olympic gold medal in Rio de Janeiro, the Tokyo 2020 Olympics silver, the 2012 London Olympics bronze, two World Championships titles, and 22 Superseries/World Tour titles.
