Bulog Ensures Safe National Rice Supply Ahead Of Christmas And New Year Holidays
JAKARTA - Perum Bulog ensures that the national rice supply is in a safe condition to meet the needs of the community towards the end of the year, in order to face Christmas 2024 and New Year 2025.
"Our stock is 2 million tons nationally. I think it's one of the largest quantities, or even the largest number after so many years, so it's safe," said Perum Bulog President Director Wahyu Suparyono, in Yogyakarta, quoted from Antara, Wednesday, December 4.
Wahyu said the 2 million tons of rice was a projected national stock until December 31, 2024.
The supply of rice is still adequate to meet the needs of the community, including the distribution of food aid in 2025 after Christmas and New Year's Eve.
According to him, in January and February 2025 Perum Bulog will still disburse 320 thousand tons of rice for the distribution of food aid for 16 million recipients.
During those two months, his party will distribute 300 thousand tons of rice for the Stabilization of Supply and Food Prices (SPHP).
"So that a total of 640 thousand tons (expended for January-February 2025), so that there are still 1.4 million tons left," he also said.
Nevertheless, Wahyu said that the national rice stock would again receive additional rice absorption from farmers during the main harvest season in the first planting season (MT 1) March-April 2025.

During that period, he targets to absorb 600 thousand tons of rice from partner farmers throughout Indonesia.
"So please also support friends from the media to convey to the procurement partners farmers to work together to strengthen the stock of Perum Bulog. That's our calculation," said Wahyu Suparyono.
