Minister Of Public Works: Prabowo Asks BPKP To Review The PU Infrastructure Project Plan Next Year

JAKARTA - President Prabowo Subianto gave directions so that the programs made by the Ministry of Public Works (PU) for next year be evaluated first by the Financial and Development Supervisory Agency (BPKP).

Thus, the program can only run after the evaluation is complete.

Minister of Public Works (PU) Dody Hanggodo said the review process had been carried out in the last two weeks. Several examples of programs that are in the review process include irrigation development to labor intensiveness.

"Indeed, there is a condition per second, it is possible that ladies and gentlemen, all of our programs are being evaluated by BPKP. We hope that, this week all the reviews have been completed," said Dody in a working meeting (Raker) with Commission V at the DPR RI Building, Jakarta, Tuesday, December 3.

"This BPKP review is actually at the direction of the President (Prabowo Subianto). So, at his direction, all of our programs that we have programed in 2024 for us to do in 2025 are asked to review to BPKP first," he added.

Dody said that one of the programs that had been allowed for execution was an irrigation project with a budget of IDR 12 trillion.

He explained that previously the budget was included in the budget due to blockage or automatic adjustment.

The Ministry of Public Works has also coordinated with the Ministry of Agriculture (Kementan), Bappenas, the Food Agency to the Ministry of Finance (Kemenkeu) regarding the need for food self-sufficiency projects by 2025. From there, it was obtained that there were a number of budgets for self-sufficiency support at the Ministry of Public Works.

"Well, that's what was then requested for the star (blocked budget) to be opened. And at that time the Rp12 trillion star was allowed to be opened specifically to support irrigation," he said.

Meanwhile, regarding several rich dense programs, said Dody, until now he still has to wait for the results of the BPKP review.

He hopes that this week the assessment can be completed so that the execution can be carried out immediately.

"We hope that this week the review will be completed. Then we can ask the President (Prabowo Subianto) for the stars (budgets that are blocked) to be opened, especially for labor-intensive programs," said Dody.

On the other hand, Dody also mentioned the construction/revitalization of schools and madrasas worth Rp. 19.5 trillion.

According to him, there was a direction from Prabowo so that the program was self-managed. However, Dody has not been able to explain the follow-up details because he still has to discuss with Bappenas and BPKP.

"Yesterday, the President (Prabowo) gave directions to all teachers on Teacher's Day that it would be self-management to the school concerned. It's just a complete form. We are currently arranging time with the Ministry of Education, Bappenas and BPKP," he said.
