Announce Film Application, Sineas Can Start Applying For Balinale Registration 2025

JAKARTA - A highly anticipated international festival, the Bali International Film Festival (Balinale) will hold its 18th annual event on the Island of the Gods Bali on June 1-7, 2025.

In 2024 (17th edition), Balinale screened 60 films representing 25 countries with winners selected from 24 films included in the competition. The competition began after the 2025 Balinale announced Call for Submissions and invited creative, unique and inspiring independent works from Indonesia and around the world.

Films from all genres: narrative-length films and documentaries, as well as short films: narrative, documentaries and inspiring, impressive and entertaining animations, will be considered as participants.

As part of our commitment to further develop local industries, support new talents, and share stories from Indonesia, we provide relief in the form of free submission of films to Indonesian participants (WNI). Special time limit for Indonesian Citizen Registration (WNI): March 15, 2025.

Balinale is the first festival in Indonesia to receive the recognition of 'qualified Oscar totaling'. The Balinale will continue to open up opportunities and provide opportunities for short films produced in the country. The Balinale as the Academy Awarduan Qualifying Festival, winner of the Balinale Short Film category, can now qualify for consideration as the Best Short Film participant in the Oscar total competition.

This week-long festival will expand and strengthen world recognition that has been received over the past eighteen years by building a cinema program that is brave, intelligent, and creatively stimulating for people around the world and creating world-class art and education forums related to our affiliation and other organizations.
