Officially Retired, Intel CEO Pat Gelsinger Leaves The Company
JAKARTA After almost four years as CEO of Intel, Pat Gelsinger, officially retired and left the company. Gelsinger also stopped being part of Intel's board of directors on December 1.
Although he has only served as CEO for four years, Gelsinger has worked for more than four decades at Intel. Gelsinger only served as CEO in February 2021, replacing Bob Swan, who has only occupied the CEO position for two years.
Based on a Bloomberg report, the board of directors had gathered to discuss Intel's progress and regain its lost market share due to NVIDIA's progress. After that, the board of directors discussed the end of Gelsinger's career.
In fact, Gelsinger is given the option to retire or be dismissed by the company. As announced at this time, Gelsinger chose the first option. It is not yet known what Gelsinger plans after officially quitting the company.
